DeveloPro™

The GFBEC has created its own proprietary high-tech economic development tool to assist developers, commercial brokers, site selection consultants, and prospective businesses to locate and research potential commercial, industrial, and major retail sites in Fort Bend County. DeveloPro™ is driven by ArcGIS Business Analyst™, a computerized GIS (Geographical Information System) technology.

DeveloPro™ helps the GFBEDC speed up the data-gathering and decision-making process while performing real-time site selection, site development, fatal flaw analysis, and demographic research in a matter of minutes. Instead of spending weeks to put together 10 site maps with separate data on flooding, topography, electrical grids, road networks, gas pipelines and other data, you can now utilize DeveloPro™ and present your clients or your company's decision makers with digital maps containing all of this data in a single presentation.

DeveloPro™ uses a base map, which is a digitized aerial photograph of Fort Bend County, updated every two years, and displays more than 50 digital layers (overlays) of information on top of the digital color aerial map. Water features, county mobility plans, pipelines, electrical distribution lines, rail lines, utility districts, potential wetlands, flood zones, and city limit boundaries are just some of the data sets that can be viewed on the system. DeveloPro™ can start from a county view and zoom all the way down to a small parcel of land to extract the pertinent data.

DeveloPro™ can now be accessed directly from our website; simply select "DeveloPro™ - Web GIS.". This button, along with "Quick Stats and Facts" and Search for Properties is on every page of the GFBEDC website.

Business Analyst™ Demographic Analysis

This demographic analytical tool is available for specific areas and specific assignments. Site locations can be analyzed in a variety of criteria, such as information based upon either a driving time distance or geographical distance from the site.

Map Resources

Along with the data and mapping capabilities of the DeveloPro™ system that are available to you, the GFBEDC also provides or can provide you with information on where to obtain other maps and charts.

Further Assistance

Should you need more than self-service capabilities with DeveloPro™, Map info, or are interested in Business Analyst™ capabilities, GFBEDC staff provides these services usually at no charge to site consultants, brokers, companies and developers who have a serious interest and are considering locating or expanding certain types of businesses in Fort Bend County. This includes non-local prospects and their representatives with and to whom we can arrange to produce and mail the maps and information.
