State of Texas

Texas Map

Texas is in the middle of everything and close to all. And major US corporations agree.

  • Low taxes, affordable land and a large labor force have made Texas home to more Fortune 500 companies than any other state.
  • According to the latest list compiled by Fortune magazine, the Lone Star State boasts 58 headquarters.
    • That is three more than New York, which previously held the number one spot, and six more than California.
  • Equidistant to the East Coast and West Coast of the US.
  • Located on the country's South Coast, also referred to as the Third Coast.
  • Vast coastline stretching along the northwest section of the Gulf of Mexico.
  • Shares borders with Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
  • Gateway into Mexico and Latin America.
  • Southern Gateway into the United States for goods and travelers coming from all over the globe.
  • More and more important as a key logistics location, especially in the flow of goods and services from Asia.

A centralized location in the United States provides many time and money advantages for companies:

  • Shipping and distribution of goods via ship, rail, truck or air.
  • Overlapping business hours with other time zones within the country.
  • Relative shorter travel times to destinations within the United States.

In addition, Texas is renowned for its excellence as the premier state to do business in. Perhaps it is the independent and persevering spirit forged from its experience as a separate country, the Republic of Texas, prior to annexation into the United States. Perhaps it comes from having an economy that would rank high in the world if indeed it was a separate country again.
